(Only 1806 Boss 351 Mustangs were made in 1971). These are some of the last solid lifter cam engines Ford produced. The Boss 351 is noted as being one of the fastest Mustangs ever produced.
Current mileage: 76,943.
Original numbers matching engine. VIN stamped in engine block. Currently has Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and Holley 750 carburetor. Engine rebuilt by the Decatur, Illinois Ford Dealer. The engine has less than 30,000 miles on it since the rebuild.
( 1- NOS original Boss 351 Ford Autolite 4300D carburetor still in the original Ford box and 1 - NOS original Boss 351 Aluminum intake manifold still in the original Ford box) both are available in the parts auction.
Original Ford Top Loader 4 Speed manual transmission with Hurst shifter. Transmission meticulously rebuilt.
Original Ford 9-inch (3.91 ratio) positraction rear axle.
All original interior - very rare Blue color.
Original Wimbledon White exterior color.
Original NASA ducted RAM Air hood and air cleaner.
The Illinois car has almost no rust. The car was always garage kept and originally undercoated from the Ford dealership when new in 1971. The undercoating is dried and flakes off very easily. With very little work, in a few hours, the undercoating can be flaked off and the bottom of the car should look factory fresh. This car has been stored for many years. The car has not seen inclement weather or been washed with water since bought in 1984.
All the mechanicals have been meticulously maintained and the car drives great.
