Built in 1965, this Corvette originally left the factory in St. Louis finished in Glen Green over a Saddle Brown interior. It was eventually acquired by the most recent owner who had commissioned an extensive frame-off nut and bolt restoration from 2017-2020. During this time, the car was completely refinished, reupholstered, and outfitted with custom modern electronics, all new coilover suspension brakes, and a new GM Performance 502 crate motor with a Holley Sniper fuel injection system and DeWitts three core all aluminum radiator with oversized temperature controlled fan.

During the restoration, this Corvette was fully disassembled and refinished in nonmetallic GM Black while the convertible top was completely restored with new heavy-duty materials. A ’67 Big Block hood was installed and finished with a custom red top stripe. A manual antenna was also added along with upgraded Detroit Speed electric headlight door motors for improved operation and reliability.

Inside, the cabin has been completely redone with new custom red seating, matching red carpets, and a custom reupholstered dashboard in black and red leather. Brand new OEM fabric top with all new hardware and gaskets has been installed. A custom Billet Specialties steering wheel was installed ahead of new Dakota Digital instrumentation including a GPS speedometer sending unit. Before the interior went back in we double Dynamat the entire firewall and interior as well as the underside of the car where the footwell is located.

Other upgrades include a Detroit Speed wiper delay system, an Ididit tilt steering column with all new electronics, and a custom stereo system with Sirius Satellite Radio, iPod/cell phone adapter, equalizer, amplifier, subwoofers, and more. The Vintage A/C works flawlessly and blows cold and the vehicle has the Dakota Digital gauges suite for the C2 corvette.

The GM Performance 502ci (8.2L) crate motor sends power to the rear wheels by way of a newly installed custom built SST 4L60 automatic transmission, LoKar custom shifter sent back to a custom-built and balanced main driveshaft. A custom cross member was fabricated to allow easy removal and installation of the transmission was also added in this process. The engine has been fitted with custom wrapped headers, and electronic ignition.

The engine and transmission management system is handled by a Holley Terminator X Max ECU which makes sure that both the engine and transmission work flawlessly together, wide-band O2 sensor, a DeWitts Pro series heavy-duty aluminum radiator with an oversized temperature controlled fan that keeps the engine running perfectly at an average temp of 160-170 in the hot Florida summers, high output chrome alternator, March serpentine pulley system, and an electric cooling fan with adjustable temperature control keeps everything running smoothly.

The brakes have been upgraded to Wilwood Cross Drilled Rotors, 6 pot calipers up front and 4 pot in the rear for the very best in stopping power. The suspension has Vansteel coilovers with a beefier sway bat and new all aluminum A arms up front, Sharkbite rear coilovers and the steering has also been upgraded to a Sharkbite Steeroids rack and pinion steering setup for a full modern driving experience. Updates to the electrical system include a new custom wiring harness, a modern blade-type fuse box, and an auxiliary relay panel. To finish off the overall look we’re added a set of custom Schott Mach V wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.

Less than 1700 miles have been covered since the completion of all the work done and over 80 pages of records are provided for reference. The car is from 1965 so it is not perfect, but it is a fine example of a 1965 C2 Corvette convertible.
