1968 corvette convertible great optioned car with matching
427/390hp (stamp appears absolutely original from the factory and
NOT a restamp!)
4 speed manual transmission and an incredible 29k original miles
(which are so hard to document) but all the tell tale signs say it
is, INDEED, 29k orig miles!
Let me tell you about this special car with prior owner history and
docs including the protecto plate, original warranty booklet and
owners manual along with being quite sure that the tank sticker is
still on the original tank but not 100%!
This survivor was purchased from Midtown Chevrolet Pontiac GMC on
1775 Broadway NY, NY 10019 from a couple in Locust Valley NY (very
upscale area) when after 12 years of using it as a weekend driver
for mostly summer days they decided to sell it to a gentleman in
South Hampton NY (a very, very upscale area) who was a collector of
many cars and this was one of those! It appeared that he sold off
some of his cars here and there when he decided to sell this one in
2010 to a local fellow again in Glen Cove where I ended up with
this great car to pass on to someone who can really appreciate this
one!
Besides being a big block survivor convertible with original
paperwork and docs and 427 spec sheet and old orig memorabilia this
car has some great options including
am/fm radio,
power windows,
telescopic steering wheel,
power brakes,
convertible,
427/390hp engine,
redline tires
and probably something I am forgetting!
The interior appears mostly original with some things being
replaced to look new again, the underside is 100% original and as
you can see looks great! The engine compartment is very original
less some original clamps and master cylinder. The brake booster
appears completely original and I was told that it was hence the
reason for not changing it! I can assure that this is a special car
not found in the corvette world too often and a special opportunity
for the new buyer.
