1970 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Coupe
2 seater
4 speed manual
28,100 miles (actual)
This beautiful example was purchased new from Midway Motors in
Great Falls Montana by its first owner. The car remained in the
family and in the state of Montana until the mid 2000’s. It has
been well cared for over the years with no history of accident
damage. The car wears about 50% of the original factory paint. Some
minor touch-up has been done to the nose and rear fenders. The
wonderful Primrose Yellow exterior works perfectly with the black
leather interior. The overall look and condition of the body/paint
is excellent. Chrome/brightwork are all original and in excellent
condition. The undercarriage is in great original/untouched/no rust
condition with no aftermarket coating applied. The lights/lenses
are all in excellent condition. The glass is all original and in
excellent condition. The chrome wire wheels (4) are beautiful and
have new radial tires mounted. The spare wheel is also in beautiful
condition with a very good newer tire mounted. The interior is in
all excellent original condition. The leather is soft and has no
condition issues. The dash and gauges: gauges are all in good
working condition and look quite new, the dash along with
switches/lights also look like new, the dash top pad has 2 cracks
that were probably caused by the Montana sun, the carpeting is in
very good condition, the steering wheel is in excellent
condition.
The E-Type performs and drives like you would hope it could. Drives
a good straight line, brakes positive and straight, suspension
feels perfect, engine/drivetrain are strong with clean exhaust.
This car can easily be plugged into the category of an original
condition survivor. With its history from Montana, very low miles,
no rust or rust repairs and no modifications, it’s the kind of
collector car that will always be desirable.
