Now for sale in the Houston showroom is this super-clean specimen
Antelope, The 1966 Chevrolet Impala. Significantly redesigned in
1965, the Impala set an all-time industry annual sales record of
more than 1 million units in the U.S., which had previously never
been reached by any competitor. A new body which featured curved,
frameless side glass for the pillar-less models such as this one,
sharper angled windshield with newly reshaped vent windows, and
redesigned full-coil suspension. All of which makes a restoration
like this one into a gorgeous piece when finished. Bathed in a
brilliant white, with black interior and chrome trim, this beauty
is a real blast from the past. Powered by a venerable 283 CID Small
Block V8 and 3 speed manual column shift transmission, this is one
smooth driver that also has plenty of pep when it's needed. Its 10
bolt rear end, housing a 3.36:1 set of gears, it has the right
gearing to get to the car show or grocery store with plenty of left
over time to do some cruising. Toss in a true dual exhaust with
FlowMaster-type mufflers, and it sounds just like you'd expect a
baby muscle car from the 1960's to sound: a semi-muted burble at
lower RPM, and a throaty growl when the driver puts the whip to it.
Options on this gorgeous Impala include: A/C (blows cold!), AM
radio, power steering, vinyl seats, raised white letter radial
tires, and aluminum Keystone 5 spoke mags wrapped in performance
raised white letter radials. For more information on this 1966
