Vehicle Description

months. And this 396-powered F1 Rally Sport is the latest in a long

universally admired, and disappear to a new home. By definition,
pro-touring cars are virtually irresistible because they combine
everything great about modern performance with everything loved in
vintage style. And who doesn't enjoy cruising a classic that mixes
the best attributes of old school Detroit muscle with the killer
performance of modern American icons? As a professionally built
custom that delivers on every level, this sweet Camaro coupe is the
kind of car you simply CAN'T ignore. It cruises like a new SS,
sprints like a modern Corvette and oozes the style and class that
made first generation F-Bodies the stuff of legend. If you're
looking for an impressive muscle car that'll fare well on the road
AND the show field, check out this awesome Chevy!
BODYWORK/TRIM
The beneficiary of a thorough, ground-up restoration that was
completed by Wagner's Classic Cars of Bonner Springs, Kansas, this
solid F1's slick Hugger Orange body is the product of A LOT of time
spent sweating details. From its straight seams to its flat panels,
the car's metal displays hours of skilled craftsmanship. Bright
2-stage provides a durable, mirror-like shine that's poised to last
for years. Factory options include dual mirrors, a ZL-2 cowl
induction hood, D80 spoilers and a Satin Black tail panel. And
details like a custom front valence, shaved doors, functional
quarter scoops and custom tail lamps create clean and subtle
presence that would be right at home reflecting a summertime car
show!
ENGINE
Despite what the car's carefully placed '502' fender emblems might
tell you, this panther is actually powered by 396 cubic inches of
Chevrolet V8. Oxygen enters the combustion chambers through conical
filter elements, which graciously flow into a custom-fabricated air
box. That oxygen gets spliced to fuel via Edelbrock injection, a
big aluminum intake and traditional, cast iron cylinder heads. At
the back of that intake, an aftermarket distributor shoots spark
through eight MSD plug wires. Below those wires, ceramic-coated,
long-tube headers help create a constant stream torque. At the
front of those headers, a beefy aluminum radiator flows coolant
past an electric puller fan and March serpentine components. And
cool dress up items, like fabricated valve covers, Eddie hood
hinges and a sculpted radiator cowl, highlight a clean,
body-matched engine bay.
DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION
Park this Chevy on a lift and you'll find solid, Satin Black
floorpans that provide a fitting backdrop for fresh, first rate
hardware. Behind the buff big block, a tough hydraulic clutch kicks
a Borg Warner T56 6-speed. That gearbox twists power to a
chrome-capped 12-bolt rear end. Beneath that drivetrain, a
reimagined suspension employs Ridetech RidePRO air ride amid
tubular control arms and modern power rack-and-pinion steering. At
the corners of that suspension, Wilwood calipers utilize fluid from
a Wilwood master cylinder to squeeze four drilled and slotted
rotors. Charred dinosaurs float from the aforementioned headers in
to hearty Flowmaster mufflers via 3-inch, aluminized pipes. And
torque transitions to pavement through polished Billet Specialties
wheels, which spin 235/45ZR17 Sumitomo HTRZIIs in front of
245/45ZR18 Sumitomo HTRZIIs.
INTERIOR
Hit the remote for this Camaro's shaved doors and you'll find a
heavily customized interior that wraps a nice blend of classic
style and modern convenience around Momo-supplied seats. In front
of those leather and suede buckets, a conservative dash frames
clean Classic Instruments gauges and a sleek Sony CD player in
stylish carbon fiber trim. At the base of that dash, a custom
consolette centers a Hurst T-handle shifter between pushbutton
start, small power window switches and controls for the
aforementioned air ride suspension. Custom door panels, billet foot
pedals, Kenwood speakers and "Camaro" branded floor mats add both
form and function. In front of the driver, an intricate Momo
steering wheel spins around a tilting column and controls for
intermittent windshield wipers. And behind the passengers, a custom
upholstered trunk frames a small amount of storage space.
