By 1964 the Super Sport was no longer an option package but a
standalone model. Identified by its unique body side and rear panel
trim and Red "SS" badging, the 1964 Impala SS was at its mightiest
when equipped with the 409/425 HP V-8, which was available only
with a 4-speed manual transmission. this 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS
is a splendid specimen. Its matching-numbers drivetrain is
highlighted by the baddest 409 of all, rated at 425 HP on the
strength of 11.0:1 compression, a high-lift solid-lifter camshaft
and dual inline four-barrel carburetors, the latter still fitted
with the original factory foil tags. Restored in 2011, the car's
original sheet metal (which still shows the factory drop-offs and
pinch welds) factory code 900 Tuxedo Black paint, clean and crisp
inside with Red 80/20 loop carpet and bright white SS bucket-seat
interior featuring a dash-mount tachometer, center console with
floor shifter and aluminum dash and console trim. Riding on radial
Whitewalls and original 409 SS hub caps, this handsome Impala SS is
the original number matching 409/425hp QB suffix code motor stamped
L155321 which is the last 6 of the cars vin = original number
