The International Company is no stranger of building things that
will last and can take the abuse of hard work and stressing the
importance of reliability and performance. The idea of giving the
American worker a vehicle that rivaled their farm equipment was a
stellar decision from the executives at IHC. Developed and improved
upon from the Scout 80's all the way up to the Scout II and
Travelall's.
We are pleased to present this highly original 1975 International
Scout ll. This Scout is powered by its optional 345 V8 engine,
Automatic transmission, and 4 wheel drive. Options include: Power
steering, power brakes, Air Conditioning (all components there and
compressor spins), bucket seats, console, rear bench, sliding rear
windows, chrome wheels, removable hard top, ets. With the exception
of what appears to be a very old repaint and new seat covers, this
Scout remains in highly original including: original body panels,
all original floors, original engine bay, original underside,
headliner, original front rubber floor, original trim, bumpers,
door panels, glass, etc.
This Scout was recently removed from long term storage, treated to
a new fuel tank and sending unit. It starts with no smoke, drives
out well, transmission shifts through all gears and the 4wd engages
as it should. The body remains in great original condition, the
paint is old and shows a little wear and patina as does the
original areas of the interior. The underside is untouched and
demonstrates an excellent core structure, no undercoat, nothing to
hide, rockers are excellent.
The vintage 4X4 market remains on fire and the International Scout
continues to be in high demand and increasing in value. Fully
restored Scouts are now valued in excess of 40 - $50, 000 dollars.
Running and driving unmolested examples such as this are highly
sought after. This Scout is offers a number of good options as it
is a very straight forwarded example for targeted improvements, use
it the way it is as a driver, or a great candidate for a full blown
restoration. A value for all situations.
