289 Coupe w/ original 3-speed manual. Comes with brand-new window stripping kit, books and manuals. Solid car, garage-kept.
I've owned this car since August 2007, and I bought it from the
guy who fully restored it. The odometer reads 29633 but I have
no idea if there should be a 1 or 2 in front of that number. When I
first got the car, I had the engine checked out and confirmed sound
by a Ford mechanic.
What I've always loved about this Mustang is that it doesn't have a
"flashy" restoration look. It's got a good "muscle" look with just
enough "original" to it. Since buying it in 2007, I have not done
much to it in terms of upgrades because I didn't really want or
need to. I considered replacing the transmission since most people
can't drive manual anymore but I decided I liked the 3-speed too
much. I bought the window stripping replacement kit but never got
around to installing it. This car does not have the modern
conveniences of many restored cars (like power steering and AC) but
again, that's what I like about it. When I drive this car, it's
like driving a Mustang in 1967.
I consider this car a good-looking, daily-driver project car. It's
sharp and it runs great; it just needs a little attention to some
of the more "comfortable" aspects of a car, especially if you want
to make a show car from it. Selling this car is a bittersweet
concept for me; I'd wanted the car to be a "father/daughter"
weekend project and we did that for a while (taking it to car shows
and such), but sometimes life doesn't cooperate with our
plans...
