V8 Engine that is backed by the enthusiast's mandatory 4-Speed
Manual Trans. This car is absolutely superb and truly
better-than-new condition throughout. These rare early Corvettes,
(only 14,531 were produced for 1962), are becoming difficult to
locate, especially in the outstanding condition of this example,
and this roadster will be a cherished addition to any collection -
Don't miss this opportunity to add a top-tier Corvette to your
collection.A fabulous car that was the subject of a thorough
professional restoration, no costs were spared to have every tiny
screw and nut correct and in its place. The 300HP V8 powerplant was
one of the top dogs back in '62 and when you put your foot down it
pulls like a thoroughbred wanting to go full out. The 4-speed
manual gearbox shifts nicely -- smooth and firm, and the car is
certainly comfortable with the acceleration it produces. This fine
example of a very clean, impressively correct and highly original
Corvette will be a pleasure to own - getting thumbs up whenever
it's seen. This Corvette is ready for its next owner to drive,
show, and enjoy for years to come. The first generation of Corvettes
are known for their rounded edges, scalloped sides (starting in
1956) and classic elegance. All Corvettes made between 1953 and
1962 are highly sought-after, and there's a subset of Corvette
enthusiasts who claim the '62 (with its blacked-out grille and new
rocker panel molding) to be the greatest Corvette ever. It was
certainly the best of the first-generation, solid-rear-axle
Corvettes. 1962 was also the last year for the wrap around
windshield, solid rear axle, and convertible-only body style. The
trunk lid and exposed headlamps did not reappear for many
decades. For more information, or to schedule a private viewing of
