Vehicle Description
1931 Ford Model A "slant windshield" Town sedan. The slant
windshield sedan is a 1931-only body style, easily identified by
its slanted windshield and lack of an exterior visor like the
earlier models. The two tone Gray paint combination is a very
classy with an understated elegant look, The black fenders which
were standard across the board have been repainted. The all
Original Herringbone patterned, Sand colored fabric upholstery with
matching door panels are in fair but workable condition showing
heavy water stains. The floor pans and panels are in very good no
rust condition and bright door hardware is in good shape with no
broken handles. The big hard rubber steering wheel is in great
shape and 3-speed manual transmission that feels natural in your
hands and shifts cleanly with a quick double-clutch and the brakes
are effective for a vehicle with modest performance and light
weight. . The round speedometers and more ornate instrument panels
are beautiful. Ford's 200 cubic inch four cylinder engine is all
about torque, and the over-achieving little machine makes a
distinctive sound that's been beloved for generations. It happily
pulls the sedan around without working too hard and cruises at 45
MPH, so it's not a problem on modern surface streets. This is a 6
volt system as originally built, and the 3-speed manual
transmission This vehicle comes with all original 19-inch wheels
including the side mounted spare and nice wide white-walls. Though
they are starting to show some signs of age ( light cracking from
drying-out in California heat ). This car shows only 42,982 miles,
The current owner believes these are the only original miles and
that it has not rolled over but there is no documentation to verify
that statement. This vehicle is in very original looking condition.
Looks like there could have been an early exterior restoration to
the paint, but it is in faded, gently worn condition now. Any other
issues are cosmetic - both inside and outside of the vehicle. Those
cosmetic issues are documented in the photos but I will mention
them here as well. Light surface rust undercarriage and throughout
the body seams but no cancer or rust throughs. Top / roof fabric
need restoration at the edges, Front window top hinge rubber needs
repair. Rubber foot mats on the running boards are missing,
Interior rear rubber flooring is missing. .Water stains/marks are
visible on seating and door fabric ( might be removable, no attempt
has been made to test ). Documentation: There is very little
paperwork to be found. From the current owner, all the owners have
done their own work with no real paper trail, The only evidence is
from actually driving this vehicle which bears out that it has been
well maintained. I have driven in this vehicle and it performs
wonderfully as of 6-29-2017. Plenty of power, no backfiring and no
other issues where experienced. I have listed and or photographed
all issues I have found to the best of my abilities, and in no way
intended to omit or mislead in any way prospective buyers. If you
have questions please feel free to call and I will do all that I
can to clarify or provide and the answer.
