GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1965 Ford Mustang
Hardtop Coupe for purchase. When Ford introduced the 1st generation
of Mustangs they flipped the entire automotive industry on its ear.
The unibody design was much smaller, lighter, and more rigid than
anything available. Designed in majority by L. David Ash, the
Mustang project had been given five goals for the design of the
Mustang: it would seat four, have bucket seats and a floor-mounted
shifter, weigh no more than 2,500 pounds and be no more than 180
inches in length, sell for less than $2,500, and have multiple
power, comfort, and luxury options.
This Mustang was originally from South Carolina and was brought to
Michigan in 1982. In 2015 the car received a complete off frame
restoration by Troxell Specialty Cars. It was originally a 6
cylinder car, at the time of restoration a 302 v8 was purchased and
rebuilt and installed. The Engine and surrounding area present very
well and the owner meticulously put everything together. The engine
runs very well is mated to an automatic floor shift transmission.
The owner had power disc brakes installed. It is equipped an
aftermarket radio that allows connection with an IPhone. Along with
the purchase of the car comes a detailed folder of receipts that
documents the restoration, a photo album of the progress made, car
cover and spare tire. The car is dressed in Torch Red that shines
over a black interior. The interior shows very well and is in
immaculate condition. This car is beautiful in every aspect and is
ready for its new owner.
