For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our Houston showroom is this
awesome 1955 Ford Thunderbird, which has under gone an extensive
restoration. Half of the fun of the car is driving it. It is
powered by its original 292 CID V8, which still has its
post-bebuild break-in oil, and is a blast to drive, with its
fun-to-shift 3-speed manual transmission (with overdrive). The
other half of the fun is in looking at it - it's painted in a rich
black that really shines, with a black over white interior that's
practically new, this baby is an eye-catcher! While its restoration
wasn't a full off-frame restoration, most parts have been replaced
and/or rebuilt; including a complete motor rebuild (motor has less
than 50 miles on it since rebuild). The exhaust manifolds were
sandblasted and coated to eliminate future rust. Also freshened up
were the braking system, with new front disk brakes to enhance
stopping performance. In addition, a new heater core heater duct
was installed, and newly-keyed lock cylinders were installed,
including ignition, doors and trunk. All of the gauges were
checked, and replaced where needed. A new complete color coded
wiring harness was installed (has been converted to 12v negative
ground with new look-a-like alternator). The vast majority of the
chrome has been replaced with new chrome. All the stainless steel
has been straightened and polished, and all new glass installed,
including windshield. The seats were removed and completely
rebuilt, including sandblasting and painting the frames, and then
installing new foam and new seat covers. New kick panels, door
panels and carpet was installed. All the rubber seals and moldings
have been replaced. Five new period-correct wheels were installed,
with bias ply white-wall tires. All paperwork including where
engine was rebuilt and lists of parts installed on car is
available. This car would make an excellent driver or could be made
into a show car with very little effort. Options on this 1955 Ford
Thunderbird for sale include AM Radio, Power Seats, Telescopic
Wheel, Vinyl Interior, Wide White Wall bias ply tires, seat belts,
and hubcaps. For more information on this 1955 Ford Thunderbird for
