1970 was the only year that the MGB was Imported with a "split" rear bumper which makes this year unique and desirable. THe car is mostly original, but has had at least one respray in the original British Racing Green. The paint on the car is excellent. It is smooth, deep and shines brilliantly. The interior is original and is in good condition. The dash is solid with no cracks or splits. The guages all function properly. The radio works,but it's not great. The split tonneau cover is in very good condition are the boot cover and support. The top is in fare condition. All interior and exterior lights work as they should.
The engine stars easily runs strong and does not use oil. The original style exhaust is solid and delivers the proper throaty exhaust note. The clutch is strong and the 4-speed overdrive transmission shifts smoothly and is quiet. The brakes, disc front and drum rear, are in excellent condition. They stop the car easily with a solid peddle and no pulling or brake noise. Steering is tight and precise. The wire wheels are in excellent condition, clean, straight and rust free. The tread on the Michelin tires looks barely worn but the side walls are starting to showtheir age. I have owned the car since 2008 and since that time the car has never been exposed to water. When not out for a drive or a show on a sunny day, it resides in the garage under it's cover.
