The Flaminia was presented at the 1956 Turin Motor Show to replace
the aging Aurelia. The Zagato-bodied Sport and Super Sport models
shared a shortened wheelbase with the Touring-styled GT/GTL coupes,
featuring disc brakes and increased power. A 2,775cc engine was
introduced for 1963, by which time the sportier Flaminias were
capable of 130mph, while a high-performance triple-carburettor '3C'
induction set-up was available as an option and is fitted to this
car. Lancia's top-of-the-range Gran Turismo, it came well equipped
and priced at the same level as a Maserati or Aston Martin.
Retaining single-family ownership until 2013, this stunning Super
Sport is finished in Saratoga White over Connolly Red leather
upholstery and wears its original Como registration plates no.
308569. This exceptionally well preserved Flaminia SS retains
factory sheet metal, lenses and glass throughout, while the
odometer recording of 32,900 kms (20,500 Miles) is thought to be
original. It received an exterior repaint of its correct color in
2008, chrome in 2010 and mechanical freshening thereafter,
providing a remarkably original example to display or drive at
nearly any prestigious automotive event worldwide. Most recently in
spring 2017, the Super Sport was the recipient of a complete
service and tune-up. This included a rebuild and tuning of the
carburetors, new battery, spark plugs and wires, fluids and
filters, fully restored brake booster, master cylinder, all
calipers, clutch master cylinder, brake lines and pads. The engine
is very strong with impressive compression results of 200 PSI per
cylinder. The driving feel is superb and the lines on the car
absolutely breathtaking.
We are proud to offer this exceedingly rare Lancia, complete with
original keys, tool roll, jack and spare assembly, Use and
Maintenance Manual, Disc Brake System Manual, Factory Brochure,
copies of Italian registration, Automobile Club and importation
documentation. Now available for worldwide purchase and
delivery.
