Vehicle Description
Start with a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette that looks like nothing you've
ever seen before. Then add in a high-performance, fuel-injected big
block. But more than just huge power, you want a suspension that
can run circles around modern machine. That's why you also spend a
fortune getting the suspension so right (the undercarriage is like
no other Sting Ray you've ever seen!) Then wrap it all around a
stealthy A/C interior that looks quite vintage. All if this is why
you are looking at the ultimate pro touring machine.
Everyone takes notice of this coupe, and it's for far more reasons
than just the slick red paint and crisp body creases. The
elimination of the front bumper and the addition of the deep chin
spoiler make this one look like a shark that's hungry for dinner.
And the performance attitude continues over every inch of the body.
The stinger hood has an extra tall cowl and additional venting.
Fender flares draw attention to wide body kit, especially in the
rear. And the larger Rally wheels (17/18 inches front/rear) are a
great subtle touch that Corvette people will pick up on quite
quickly. The result is a custom creation that was clearly inspired
by the champion Grand Sport C2s, but you can also tell that this is
a beast is no copycat.
Inside it is a little harder to first recognize that this is a full
custom build. A lot of attention was paid to restoring all the
great stock components we like to see. So the deep black interior
has bucket seats, a dual cowl dash, and plenty of polished accents
to brighten up the atmosphere. But soon you'll start to detect some
upgrades. For example, the modern stereo is part of a much larger
full subwoofer system. And the whole interior has been covered in
Dynamat to make sure that the sound system is crisp and clear.
Plus, the air conditioning will probably feel a bit cooler thanks
to modern R134a. And while you still get the Sting Ray's classic
wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, the updated gauges will
look a bit sharper. And have you seen the extra gear on the shift
pattern yet?
When you lift the hood, this Corvette shows you its dark side. You
could get big block power in '66 from Chevy, but nothing was as
large or wild as this. You're looking at a 454 cubic-inch V8 that
has been upgraded with a mild cam, cold air intake, Edelbrock
Pro-Flo XT fuel rails, and a thunderous Kooks custom cross-flow
exhaust. We know you have looked at the profile of this car, but
the exhaust actually exits out of the rear. So you get the cool
appearance of side pipes without the worry of scorching a leg. This
is mated to a Tremec TKO500 five-speed manual transmission for the
best total control. It sends the power through a carbon fiber
driveshaft that connects with a stout Dana 44 rear end. But the
best investment in performance comes when you look at the
undercarriage photos. There has been so much invested to make this
a Corvette unlike any other, that we won't even pretend to be able
to fit all the pricy info in this space - so give us a call for the
full details. As you can see from the photos, the front suspension
is a full custom setup. The upper A-arms allow for six-degrees of
caster to add confidence to the feeling on the road. Plus, it also
features are custom with a carbon/fiberglass adjustable cross
spring, urethane bushings, a thick sway bar, and QA1 shocks. In the
rear, the switch was made to the desirable Jaguar suspension with
upgrades like an adjustable toe-in and QA1 adjustable coilovers.
The full package is capped off with all the best in smooth control
- a Borgeson 600 power steering box, four-wheel disc brakes with MP
Billet four-piston calipers, and the superior grip of Falken Azenis
tires.
There is just so much custom work put into this wicked pro touring
creation that we don't have the space to list it all here. Not only
do we have all of the details at the office, but also build
receipts and restoration photos so you can take others on this wild
build journey at any time. So don't miss out at the unique
opportunity at an iconic American that handles like a modern
European. Call today!!
