Rare 1966 Pontiac Catalina w/Ventura trim package convertible.
Project that you can drive as is and enjoy or restore. This is a
very interesting and honest car. It is the factory 389 / 2 barrel,
with the very rare Ventura trim package that included the 2+2
interior kit (bucket seats / special upholstery pattern / console),
PS, PB, Power Top (working), Power Antenna, 107k original miles,
rare spinner hubcaps. Original Southgate, California produced
car...Less than 12,000 Catalina Convertibles made and only a
handful had the Ventura trim package.
PROS: This is a very solid frame and bodied car. The rockers are in
great condition, doors shut like they should. In 2007 someone
started restoring it and had it painted, had a new top installed,
the rear window is clear, new tires, new dual exhaust from the
manifold back, and electronic ignition installed...then parked it.
The trunk is not completely rotten, has surface rust but not all
the way through. The brightwork still shines.
CONS: The paint is a 20' job and has chips / wear through but
shines...paint could use a buff. There is an exhaust leak now
off the manifold, believed it to be a cracked manifold. The
interior could use refreshening due to age or throw seat covers on
it and drive it. The top is ok but was down for so many years
that there is a worn through spot in the back corner about the size
of a quarter. The tonneau cover is in tact but has a rip.
Everything needed to restore this car including the rare interior
kit can be purchased through www.OPGI.com so parts are easily
accessible and affordable if that's the route you want to go.
This is not a show car but there are plenty of miles left in to
have fun with.
The NADA blue book is $11,100 for LOW Retail...my price of $8500 is
realistic for the condition, but I am open to cash offers in
person.
Car is located in Bremerton, Washington 98310.
