For Sale at Auction: 1965 Chrysler Imperial in Uncasville, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

This unique and special car, the "Black Beauty," was used in the 2011 movie "The Green Hornet." It was customized for the film by picture car coordinator Dennis McCarthy of Vehicle Effects, who has provided cars for feature films such as "Batman Begins" and "Fast & Furious." While there were 29 Imperials used in "The Green Hornet," all those with the full complement of weapons were damaged in action stunts during the making of the film. This is the only one remaining that is fully armed. The ominous Midnight Black Imperial comes complete with crime-fighting features such as twin hood-mounted machine guns, rocket launchers hidden behind the front and rear bumpers and a flame thrower in the grille. The interior of the car is fully equipped with gadgets and lit with a green color scheme, along with green headlights, tinted windows and suicide doors. It was originally given away by Sony Pictures in January 2011 as a grand prize in their nationwide sweepstakes in conjunction with the restaurant firm that owns Carl's Jr. and Hardees. Featuring plenty of power, it's equipped with a 454ci engine with automatic transmission, beefed-up suspension and interior levers to intentionally lock up the rear brakes. A car that's a star in own right.
