In case you couldn't tell, your friends at RK Motors Charlotte
really enjoy finding world-class examples of very unique cars. And
that goes double for storied metal like this striking Dodge Dart.
Rotisserie restored with a variety of original and NOS components,
this national award-winning coupe wraps a correct 383/3-speed
drivetrain in sinister black and red aesthetics that are guaranteed
to turn heads. And if you're looking for a fully documented classic
that's firmly rooted in the golden age of muscle cars, it's a quick
and glorious trip down the best part of nostalgia lane!
BODYWORK/TRIM
Much cleaner than when it originally rolled down Chrysler's storied
assembly lines, this slick coupe has been transformed into a
take-no-prisoners show stopper that consistently wins trophies. You
won't be staying under the radar with the car's wet looking Black
paint, which highlights a mostly original profile that benefitted
from reference-quality restoration. That sheetmetal, supplemented
with one small quarter panel patch, was stripped bare and
block-sanded for literal hours. That labor resulted in a
laser-straight profile that's supplemented with an original grille,
an original trunk bezel, re-chromed bumpers and mostly original
glass. And today, this fully sorted Dodge is a virtually flawless
representation of timeless Detroit muscle.
ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN
Check this Dart's glossy engine bay and you'll find a correct RB V8
that wears a familiar 2468130 casting number. Fully rebuilt roughly
4K miles back, that stout small block mixes a Comp Cam engine kit
with a .030 overbore, Sealed Power flat top pistons and a roster of
correct and NOS ancillaries to create serious horsepower. Behind
that mill, a correct TorqueFlite 3-speed twists a proven 8.75-inch
rear end. That transmission makes excellent use of a mild shift kit
while the pumpkin works a correct Sure Grip differential around
correct, 3.23 gears. That smooth drivetrain feeds a familiar front
torsion bar and rear leaf suspension that's shackled to factory
manual steering. At the front of those bones, factory drum brakes
have been replaced with an SSBC disc conversion. Exhaust rumbles
through custom pipes, which employ traditional turbo mufflers and
polished stainless tips. And at the corners of the floors,
powder-coated steelies spin original equipment dog dishes inside
215/60R15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A redlines and 235/60R15 BF Goodrich
Radial T/A redlines.
INTERIOR
Inside this Dart, a correct Black interior looks as fresh as the
day the car left Hamtramck. A standard combination of bucket and
bench seats are soft to the touch, featuring pliable covers that
present very well. In front of those perches, a warp-free dash
frames a trademark square speedometer between a Dart Solid State
radio and NOS Sun accessory gauges. Below that dash, a
silver-trimmed console anchors a polished shifter behind a rebuilt
tachometer. And in front of the driver, a wood-look steering wheel
spins satin spokes around a classic fratzog.
