Vehicle Description
The 1961 Chevrolet Corvette roadster is a true favorite among fans
because it has the best of everything. This is when the
first-generation styling really came together in one of the coolest
packages around. So, when this fantastic presentation comes
together with an enhanced V8 heart, you know this is the classic to
own.
For a lot of us, the 1961 Corvette is the right year 'Vette to
have. The contrasting colored cove is just a start of the fun
Chevrolet designers had years ago. Four headlights up front made it
even more desireable, as the roadsters dropped the awkward styling
touches like the ribbed hood and fussy chrome details of previous
years. The most important improvement is out back. The sleek rear
end was new for this year, and its four-taillight design set the
standard that is still being followed over a half-century later.
While a red Corvette is beautiful, we bet this color combo is what
made you first stop and look at this C1. It has been resprayed with
a rare two-tone Tuxedo Black with Inca Silver inserts. It's a
distinctive way to show off the uniform fit of the body without
losing the period-correct feel. Of course, the thing that you will
really be attracted to is that all the hard to find brightwork is
still present on this one, and it still sparkles with a fantastic
shine. Plus, fresh whitewall tires on full wheel covers are the
perfect cap off to the period-correct feeling of this first
generation 'Vette.
While this one comes with a matching hardtop to give your classic
C1 a curvy-coupe-like presentation, we really know that your
favorite days will be the ones with the top off. Red interiors
always look amazing on black cars, and the Corvette also just seems
to get that right. The black waterfall in-between the bucket seats,
and the dual color weave of the carpeting, create a perfectly
blended package. The full gauges are in beautiful condition and are
quite possibly original, which says a lot about this car's quality.
Plus, the upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo is always a nice addition
to get the best music. The steering wheel looks awesome in red,
too, and its ridges have that great thin, grippy feel that only
came on the right cars of this era. Plus, the cue ball on top of
the three-speed automatic transmission is a great place to rest
your hand. Because you'll want to be cruising with the top off for
as long as possible, it's always nice to know the heater is in good
working order. That way you can still enjoy this roadster on a
crisp fall Sunday drive.
When you open the hood, you see all the right elements that you
love. This includes the large original chrome air topper, ram's
horn exhaust manifolds, and the Corvette cursive valve covers. But
if you take a closer look, this V8 has been upgraded to a larger
350 cubic-inch block and a performance Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor. That means a younger V8 is under the hood, a TH350
three speed automatic for extra cruising speeds, and it even gives
a little extra growl out of the dual exhaust - that's why this one
is even more fun with the top off!
This is the Corvette that's perfect for the car shows, but it also
has all the right features that will make you skip a few events
because you're having too much fun driving it. A total package
classic like this won't wait for long, call today!
