For sale in our Chicago showroom is this unique 1977 Chevrolet
Corvette. What makes this Corvette unique? I'm glad you asked!
While most Corvettes of this era are powered by the somewhat
lethargic L-82 making 205 horsepower, or the base L-48 making a
painfully low 165 horsepower, this example has received a bit of a
special treatment. In 2016, the original L-48 engine was pulled to
be completely rebuilt from oil pan to carb. The result is an
estimated 420 horsepower pushing through the 3-speed automatic
transmission. This is how the Corvette should have left the
factory! The exhaust gives just the slightest hint that something
more is going on under the hood, but ride out the RPMs just one
time and you'll be hooked on that sound! In an effort to preserve
what the car was born as, little else was changed on the car; the
interior is completely original with the only exception being the
center console gauges, which were replaced due to failed original
gauges. The factory wheels still sit tucked under the wheel
openings, and a newer battery keeps all the electronics juiced up.
Plenty of care was given to keep this classic looking good, and it
shows. The car was sparingly driven in the rain, and has never seen
salt or snow, as it was stored in the winter. Always noted as a
styling peak with its muscular fenders and coke-bottle shape, this
C3 has the "go" to back up the "show." Options include:
Air-Conditioning, AM/FM/CD player, T-tops, Cruise Control, Power
Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Seat Belts, Leather Interior,
radial Tires, and Rally Wheels. For more information on this
