Vehicle Description
This Chevelle SS454 LS6 Re-creation was the recipient of a
frame-off, nut-and-bolt rotisserie restoration completed March 12,
2014, after some 3,000-plus hours of work. The car remains a
concours-quality gem, finished in correct Tuxedo Black paint with
its cowl-induction hood, white SS stripes and a black interior. The
exquisitely detailed engine compartment - restored back to its
factory appearance by replacing all the vehicle parts with the
correct factory tags down to the chalk marks that were once written
at the Baltimore, MD, plant - is home to the famed LS6 solid-lifter
V8 engine with the correct carburetor. In this case, it
incorporates a date-code-correct 454/450hp LS6 restoration engine.
A Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and correctly dated CRW 4.10:1
12-bolt posi-traction rear end complete the all-business driveline.
The factory black interior is well-appointed with Strato bucket
seats, locking center console, tilt steering column, factory gauges
and factory AM radio. It rides on black SS wheels with wide oval
tires. The trunk is likewise correctly done with spatter paint,
trunk mat, correct and full-size spare tire with jack. This is a
magnificent example of Chevrolet's premier classic-era muscle car.
