Vehicle Description
This fully restored Chevy pickup started out as a solid truck from
Texas. The body and frame were stripped to bare metal and the
two-year restoration process began. The process is well-documented
with hundreds of pictures. This truck is fitted with a 345hp,
all-aluminum, fuel-injected LS1 V8 engine backed by a 4L60E 4-speed
overdrive automatic transmission finished off with a 10-bolt 3:73
posi-traction rear end. It also features Chassis Engineering front
and rear suspension; the total drop is about 4", giving this truck
the perfect ride height and attitude. It's equipped with American
Autowire wiring harness, modern LED turn signals and brake lights,
and 20x9" American Racing wheels wrapped in Cooper CS3
high-performance tires. Stopping power is provided by 4-wheel
drilled and slotted power disc brakes. The red-oak bed is also new
with five coats of polyurethane and polished stainless-steel slats.
The original seat frame was retained and covered in Saddle Brown
vinyl with black piping. New black carpet tops the floor. Interior
is 100% covered with sound deadening material. It features a CD/MP3
stereo with four speakers nicely mounted behind the seat. Nothing
in this interior has been cut. Other interior features include Auto
Meter gauges with tachometer, tilt column attached to a power rack
& pinion, and the stock-style heater/defroster was retained,
receiving a modern electric fan motor. The engine compartment is
incredibly clean and detailed with as much of the wiring hidden as
possible. The original brass radiator was purposely retained for a
bit of nostalgia. The fuel tank was moved out of the cab and
mounted under the bed behind the rear axle. This truck has been
driven approximately 1,100 miles since completion. Everything works
as it should. The undercarriage of this truck is as detailed as the
exterior. No corners were cut in this restoration.
