Vehicle Description
This is a matching-numbers, real "Smokey and the Bandit," Y84
Special Edition black and gold Trans Am. It has original T-tops,
factory air conditioning, AM/FM/cassette radio, cruise control and
original turbo wheels. It looks identical to the car in "Smokey and
the Bandit II." A correct 70,000 original-mile car, it's been
frame-on restored. Powered by the 4.9-liter turbocharged engine, it
is one of only 3,444 turbo T-top Special Editions produced for the
1980 model year. The car spent its entire life in the dry climate
of the Southwest until purchased by the current owner less than one
year ago. The vehicle was recently gone over from front to back and
the body fit is laser-straight and better-than-new. The body and
undercarriage of the car are totally rust-free and all the body
panels are original. Once the body was prepared, it was given a
fresh coat of the correct Starlight Black and wet sanded to a
mirror finish. The deluxe Camel cloth interior was also carefully
refreshed and is in as-new condition. The car's original engine was
completely rebuilt. All the instruments and gauges were checked for
operation and repaired or replaced, if necessary. The car handles
great with the WS6 Performance Package and comes with a complete
set of Pontiac Historical Services (PHS) paperwork, factory Build
Sheet, a binder full of receipts, paperwork dating back to 1995 and
a Pontiac Division Window Sticker.
