Vehicle Description
1967 Chevrolet Corvette For Sale - Documented Factory L71 427/435hp
The 1967 Corvette Sting Ray was the last Corvette of the second
generation, and arguably after five years of refinements made it
the best of the line. Changes were again modest such as five
smaller front fender vents replaced the three larger ones and the
flat-finish rockers conferred a lower profile. New was a single
backup light mounted above the license plate and the previous
models' wheel covers gave way to slotted six-inch Rally wheels with
chrome beauty rings and lug nuts concealed behind chrome caps.
Interior alterations included revised upholstery and the handbrake
moved from beneath the dash to between the seats. Enthusiast and
collectors today mistakenly believe the C2 Corvettes came with the
options we all love and admire, especially looking at the prices
today, however in most cases they were not ordered. Even the
Side-Mounted Exhaust System was a very rare option that most
Corvette purchasers in '67 didn't pay the extra $131.05 price tag.
The ultimate option was the Code L71 427/435HP engine available
with a Holley triple two-barrel carburetor arrangement called
Tri-Power. The rare L71 427 engine package, with only 3754 produced
cost the original buyer an extra $437.10 on the GM order form that
had the Roadsters retailing at $4141. This frame on restored 1967
Corvette L71 Convertible is finished in the very desirable
combination of Code 976 Marina Blue exterior completed with
White/Black Leather interior and rare headrest option. Also,
complemented by the optional White Convertible Soft Top makes for
one of the most stunning color combinations ever produced. It was
factory delivered with the optional L71 427 Turbo-Jet 3X2 boasting
435HP linked to the mandatory 4-Speed Close Ratio Manual
Transmission with a 3.70 Posi-traction Rear Axle. This Sting Ray
also features a Delco AM-FM Radio, K66 Transistor Ignition, the
optional Side-Mounted Exhaust, and the Bolt-On Wheels displayed on
the Red Line Firestone Tires. Handling characteristics are greatly
improved with the addition of the optional F41 suspension. With all
these options, this Corvette Roadster is ready for the excitement
of the show or the open road thrills. It is fully documented with
the original bill of sale and owners card as well complete with a
sworn affidavit from the cars first owner. With the combination of
the optional L71 powerhouse engine, the 4-speed close ratio
transmission and being a convertible this beautiful 1967 Corvette
L71 is the perfect addition to any Bow Tie enthusiast garage. Take
this Blue Roadster out to your local car show or for a long drive
to feel its raw performance; it's just as comfortable doing both!
