Featuring special paint, striping, Shelby emblems, a special grille and front fascia, rear-fender air scoops, and a mean profile view uncluttered by a rear spoiler, the GT-C boldly announced its intentions. It also carried the substance to match the flash, with an X-pipe exhaust system, 3.55 rear-axle ratio, Hurst short-throw shifter, and the Ford Racing Power Upgrade Package including a 90-mm cold-air intake, performance mufflers, and performance-calibrated engine management. Handling was outstanding to match, with the Ford Racing Handling Package, which brought performance dampers, lowering springs, anti-roll bars, and a strut-tower brace. In addition to the 8,500 GT-C package, other available upgrades included Baer brakes 4,190 with six-piston monoblock calipers up front, and AR custom wheels 2,475 mounting a set of Pirelli tires. Magazine road testers were impressed by the Mustang GT-C./p\r\np stylemargin 0in; font-family Verdana; font-size 10.5pt; /p\r\np stylemargin 0in; font-family Calibri; font-size 11.0pt; /p\r\np stylemargin 0in; font-family Verdana; font-size 10.5pt;Motor Trend magazine\'s assessment of the car, sub-titled The Carroll Shelby Burnout Show, was particularly entertaining. In it, the GT-C was compared to other top-notch modified Mustangs, including a Roush Stage 2 and a Saleen S281-3V, with the GT-C described as ...the most of the most - the most handsome, the most capable, and, well, the most hair-raising. Motor Trend staffers also praised the outstanding handling characteristics of the GT-C and its menacing overall persona. Numbered CSM No. 08SGT0087, this 2008 Shelby Mustang GT-C is the 87th of the 215 examples produced in all. With only 6,000 original miles of use, it also features Carroll Shelby\'s iconic signature, which was added to the passenger-side sun visor at the factory. The factory Navigation system is yet another very rare and desirable factory option. Production of the Shelby GT-C Mustang was limited, with just 215 units built in all; that rarity, as well as its sheer on-road prowess and stunning looks, makes this Shelby GT-C one of the most coveted and collectible high-performance Mustangs of the modern era./p
