For Sale: 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS in Jefferson, Wisconsin

Vehicle Description

This car is in wonderful condition. It underwent a frame-off restoration about ten years ago. It has been driven only 3700 miles since.

It is such a thrill to drive. The 283 Power Pack has plenty of power and torque. It sounds great thru dual exhaust. I enjoy driving cars with stick shifts and overdrive. This was not real common, but it truly enhances the experience.

The 3.73 rear end gears allow for quick take-offs and you can get through 2 and 3 quickly. In fact, you can cruise through town in high gear. But get on the highway and allow it to go into overdrive and you will be cruising effortlessly at 75 mph. I had one like this a few years ago and routinely got 20mpg.

The power steering and brakes, combined with radial tires, makes for smooth and easy driving. All systems, including suspension, were refurbished at the time of restoration. This car drives like it is new.

The frame and suspension are very smooth, as they were media-blasted. I am disappointed that the front floor supports weren’t replaced. They are typical. Showing degradation. Otherwise, the floors, supports, inner rockers and mounts are very nice.

The body is very, very nice. No sign of rust or repairs. The Ember Red paint is as smooth as glass. All the aluminum, chrome and stainless was replaced. The hubcaps are NOS and cost  over $1000.

The interior is spectacular. If you have done business with Ciadella, you know of their quality.

It is 922, Super Sport vinyl buckets in red. The headliner is white, very stunning. All the interior chrome and trim is in  wonderful condition. There are a set of correct floor mats protecting the carpet.

This car is equipped with a rebuilt/correct AM radio. It has working fade and rear speaker. Only one antenna.

The trim tag supports the Super Sport claim. That is the only way, other then original documents, that you can tell. The engine turned trim, emblems, center console, steering wheel and hubcaps could all be added. But in this case, they weren’t. Trim 922 is only available on the Super Sport.

Not only is this car a fantastic driver, it is show worthy. I plan to do both. So don’t hesitate, I am confident there will be plenty of interest, and I may just decide to keep it for myself.
