For Sale: 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin

Vehicle Description

Up for your consideration is an absolutely beautiful, well taken care of 1976 Lincoln Continental Mark IV.

THIS IS A 100% TURN KEY CAR NEEDING NOTHING BUT A GREAT FAMILY TO ENJOY!

This car was purchased from the second family of ownership. The wonderful man in his 70's that owned it last bragged on how he lovingly took care of the car, and how he was very sad to see it go.

OK everyone... you know the feeling in your gut when you get a car that has been loved and cared for? That is exactly how this car will make you feel! This is an extremely well cared for, properly maintained car and everything works. The body is gorgeous and rust free with no accidents or damage. There have been some minor paint touchup (After Repaint) to cover some scratches over its valiant 40 year history, but I am confident we all can stomach that quite easily.

All gauges work fine, the seats are extremely comfortable (It's like sitting in your home recliner) and the leg room in all areas is just simply amazing.

The Driving Experience:
The car starts without any trouble, no squeaks, noises or extensive pumping of the gas. It is extremely quiet and is the definition of luxury. One can feel the power behind that huge 460V8, it easily handles the sheer size and weight of this car with ease. You can feel very confident of your safety and comfort whether it's a day trip or driving coast to coast.
It drives beautifully at 85 miles an hour with no rattles, shakes issues. It also brakes perfectly and does not pull to either side. The previous owner did have the brakes recently serviced. He was very big on preventive maintenance; which in turn will benefit the new owner of this car.
The tires are new and really enhance the smooth ride and driving experience! Plenty of tread left for miles of enjoyment; and no additional expense in terms of replacement need.

Exterior:
Let the pictures speak for themselves! The car has a few touchup spots but nothing to be concerned about. There is no evidence of accidents, rust or rot on this car. It looks just as good underneath as it does standing right in front of it. If you look at the trunk, the quarter panels on the inside are perfect. There are no waves, creases, scratches or rust. You can drive this vintage beauty to a car show or family gathering and the looks and compliments are great. The prior owner won a trophy for a show he entered, that will go with the new owner!
All lights, directional signals, courtesy lights work as they should including the hide-a-way headlight doors.
The vinyl top is beautiful and the molding has inlaid vinyl and not a scratch, mar or issue! The brightwork on the bumpers and chrome rims are simply amazing - no curb rash, pitting or scratches.

Interior:
The seats are supple leather and are power adjustable; ladies and gentleman this is a road car! The interior is completely original, and show beautifully. The door panels are gorgeous. The only flaw I see in the whole car are the leather pull handles on the driver and passenger door, have some cracks. They are fully functional, but that is about the only issue I see. The arm rests are very comfortable. Heck all you need is a remote and a TV and you are set!
The dashboard is perfect, no discoloration, cracks or blemishes. The gauges are clear, no fading scratches or cracks. Literally, this looks brand new. The car was garaged, maintained and not abused at all.
The windows are electric, they go up and down without delay and the seals are proper. They are not dried out, cracked or misaligned. The glass is original to the car, never replaced, no scratches, blemishes or fading.
The heat works as it should as well as the defroster. The air conditioner was converted and works beautifully! The car is a non-smoker car, no odors or damp smells. The trunk retains its original carpet and it is dry! The spare is there, according to the gentleman I bought it from, he said it was never used! The factory jack looks like it was never removed when the guys at the plant installed it!
The radio is factory, it has an 8 track player and it all works perfectly. There is simply nothing aftermarket in this car at all. It is what I would call "bone stock".
It has a fully functional and desirable factory sunroof - it works perfectly and is tinted. This is one of the best features of this American treasure! It opens and closes as it should.
The doors do not sag or are misaligned; you close and open them with ease!

Mechanically:
Take a look at the engine, its factory and all of the components are in position as they should. The smog equipment is still in place and connected. The battery is relatively new, plenty of electricity to run this car on long trips!
The transmission shifts flawlessly through all gears no slipping or hesitation. The steering is superb, as it should be with a new power steering pump and hoses. The front end is properly greased and shows nouneven wear on the tires. As big as this car is, it is great on gas and uses regular unleaded fuel! The carburetor was also recently rebuilt for improved performance. One of the nicest cars I have had the privilege of owning!
