Vehicle Description
pVehicle to be offered for Auction sale June 2nd - 4th, 2017 at
Russo and Steele\'s 5th Annual Newport Beach, California Auction.
Please contact us for more information. Of all 1934 models offered
by Ford, the Victoria Deluxe 2-door sedan, also known as the Vicky,
with its V-shaped grille, formal roofline and blind rear-quarters,
remains a standout more than 80 years later. Very few examples
remain today of the slant-back Victoria, with its particularly
attractive trunk design feature. This rare all-steel, \'slant
back\' 1934 Ford Victoria street rod is an older build with recent
and desirable updates. It was formerly part of the collection of
Ray Hamel, who co-founded the well-known Hamel\'s Action Sports
surf and skate shops in Mission Beach, California with his brother
in the late 1960s. During the early 2010s, the Vicky passed
untouched through a pair of co-owners in San Diego to the current
owner, who made a significant investment into the vehicle\'s
preservation and enhancement. Finished in shiny black, the Vicky is
accented by iconic Fire to Flames art-in-motion artwork completed
by the famous airbrush artist Mark Leuck of El Cajon, California.
To hard-core enthusiasts, Mr. Leuck is best known for his artistry
on the California Kid \'34 Ford 3-Window hero car of 1970s movie
fame. Recently, Mark has touched-up and signed his work on this
\'34 Ford for the current owner. Power is delivered by a 350 Chevy
small-block mated to a GM 700R4 automatic with a Lokar Gennie
shifter. Exhaust is removed by a set of Hooker headers feeding a
dual exhaust system including new Flowmaster polished mufflers and
tailpipes. Excellent supporting items include a new Edelbrock fuel
pump. Underpinnings include a Mustang independent front suspension
and Jaguar IRS, with stopping via 4-wheel disc brakes. The
comfortable interior features silver-gray leather upholstery
including the headliner and black carpeting. The power-operated
driver\'s seat faces an original steel dash fitted with Classic
gauges and built-in A/C and heater controls and the polished
aluminum Flaming River steering column is topped by a
leather-wrapped, billet aluminum steering wheel. A remote CD stereo
system provides entertainment. Fine details include the freshly
re-chromed inside window frames and trunk hinges, plus the addition
of front power windows operated by original knob-type marbled
handles. The most recent updates to the Vicky also include the
addition of power steering, new Street Fire HEI distributor, a new
front bumper, new rear nerf-style bumpers, LED headlights and cowl
lights, new windshield chrome framing, new front seat belts, new
locking door handles, a new oogah horn, a rear-view camera, a new
gas tank, and a new battery, which is discreetly located in the
slant-back trunk compartment. Great extras include two highly
collectible and original 1934-dated Arizona copper license plates
numbered 9BV4 and only issued in the Copper State from \'33 through
\'35, and Mark Leuck\'s signature on his iconic flaming artwork.
This all-steel slant-back \'34 Ford Victoria marks an outstanding
offering at Scottsdale and an irreplaceable opportunity for smart
collectors and enthusiasts of real street rods. This smart street
rod turns heads everywhere it goes, whether in your showroom, in
the holiday downtown parade, local car shows, or while out for an
enjoyable drive down Route 66./p
