10.5pt;Ferdinand Porsche\'s early sketches of the iconic 911 - also
known as the \'Neunelfer\' - date back to 1958. Assisted by Edwin
Komenda, who worked on the body profile, and Ing Hans Tomala,
powertrain guru, the car was finally realized in 1963, the first
year of decades of uninterrupted production. Today the 911 is
generally accepted by sports car aficionados as one of - if not the
- most popular competition cars ever, a symphony of technology,
performance, handling and design, and has been commandeered as the
base model for modification by countless rally and race teams,
including a highly successful 24 Hours of Le Mans crew. In 1981
Peter Schutz, the newly recruited CEO of Porsche, made the
unilateral decision to extend the production of the 911 into the
future indefinitely, overriding his predecessors\' proposal to
cease production that same year./p\r\np stylemargin 0in;

icon, had been saved, and we believe the company was saved with it!
he stated. As testament to the sagacity of this decision, the 911
went on to surpass even the legendary 356 in longevity. In 1999,
the 911 was awarded 5th place in the international poll for Car of
the Century. In 1978 Porsche launched the 911SC, reinstating the
Super Carrera acronym for the first time since the the 356SC. This
superb 2 door 2+2 coupe with steel unibody signified the advent of
the \'Gentleman\'s Sports Car\', a rear engined, rear wheel drive
model with the power of a sports car but the luxury appointments of
a grand tourer./p\r\np stylemargin 0in; font-family Calibri;

conditioning and power windows. For 1981 it featured halogen
headlamps and the following year saw the addition of leather seats
and headlamp washers. The highly recognizable flared rear wheel
fenders and roomy interior were mated with independent suspension,
a 5-speed Type-915 manual transmission and the most powerful engine
to date - the upgraded 3.0 liter 2,993cc naturally aspirated air
cooled, horizontally opposed overhead-cam six cylinder powerhouse,
displacing 182.6 cubic inches with Bosch K-Jetronik fuel injection
and capable of producing 180 horsepower. The output was then
improved to 188 horsepower and finally in 1981 - 204 horsepower. By
1983, Porsche had produced 59,914 of the 911SC, and amongst them
all, this particular example is absolutely unique. Delivered in
1982 brand new to the dealership Glendale Porsche of Glendale,
California, the car was sold to a dedicated Porsche
enthusiast./p\r\np stylemargin 0in; font-family Calibri; font-size

true survivor which is bears witness to decades of painstaking
service and maintenance, as is documented by the accompanying
records. The car comes with the original owner\'s manual and the
Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Unspoiled, honest and pure,
this superb time-capsule two owner car, is a rare example of one of
the most important sports cars ever built and will grace any
