information./p\r\np /p\r\npThis Packard has virtually all its
original equipment, including the original owner\'s manual. The
great majority of components have been restored. The only deviation
from stock is an aftermarket overdrive, added to improve open road
performance. The engine and transmission are original. The current
owner bought the car 15 years ago from Mark Lyon of Thousand Oaks
California. The only professional restoration was performed in 2008
by Glen Vaughn in Post Falls, Washington, near Spokane. Brakes were
rebuilt, the cam was reground, valve guides were replaced, the
valves were ground, the front clip and wheels were repainted, and
pine stripes were added. Then the car was driven 1,000 miles back
home near Yosemite. The pleasurable trip took 5 days only driving
in the morning. Long periods were spent cruising at 60 MPH. Over
the years, this Packard has been driven to Santa Rosa, Monterey,
Auburn, Oakhurst, and Bishop, all in California. Some round trips
exceeded 400 miles. The Bishop trip was via Tioga Pass, the highest
pass in the state. In Santa Rosa, this car received the Founders
Award for the Best Preserved Packard. In 2010, it also won Best of
Show a local, Groveland, California car show with 200 cars
competing. That same year, it won first prize in the local 49\'er
parade. It has been shown 5 times in the prestigious Ironstone
Winery show in Murphys, California. What could be better than a red
rumble seat-equipped Packard convertible?/p
