1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu
Although the second generation of Chevelle is reported as being
1968-1972 big changes came in 1970 as the front end was completely
redesigned. 72 was the last year for this generation and the top
seller was the Malibu Sport Coupe which is what you see here. This
car was originally bought in Arlington, TX and went to a
Mississippi dealership before being purchased and brought back to
Garland, TX where it has lived ever since. The car is a rust free
one family owned car so you know it has been well cared for. It has
received 1 repaint since new when it was changed to Black. The
paint has a nice slick finish and looks great combined with the
Black vinyl top. An aftermarket 1.5 inch cowl hood was added to the
car but it also comes with the original. All of the chrome and
stainless is cleanly mounted in place and all has a nice shine. All
new weather strip has been installed so the doors all seal up
nicely. Factory style 15 inch Rally wheels ride under all four
corners and are wrapped with new radial tires.
The car runs great and a lot of components were just gone through
and replaced. It is powered by the numbers matching original 350 V8
that was professionally rebuilt to the original specs except being
bored 30 over. The motor has the original look with a lot of the
components painted in Chevrolet Orange. Backing the engine is a
Turbo 350 automatic transmission that sends power back to the 12
bolt limited slip rear end. The brakes have been entirely gone
through and are factory power assisted. New shocks and suspensions
bushings were just added as well as multiple other new components
including a new gas tank, new sending unit, new AC compressor, new
alternator and all new dual exhaust. The car starts up and runs
well.
The interior is the original White upholster but a new cover was
added to the front seat. It has bench seats in front/rear with the
front headrests. The dash has that factory original look with
everything done in the stock style. All of the gauges, knobs and
switches work properly with no issues. The AC blows cold through
the factory in dash vents. The trunk of the car has the standard
Grey coating and houses a spare wheel and jack. The car also comes
with the owners manual, protecto plate, original build sheet, and
receipts for all the repairs.
These Chevelles are always a popular muscle car and this one is
