This 2017 GT350 is like no other Mustang or Shelby produced. It's
high-revving motor, independent rear, and magnetic suspension have

peak power at the top of its 8,200 RPM rev range and a chassis that
keeps the Mustang firmly planted to the pavement, it's a car that

BODYWORK/TRIM
On the outside, the GT350 is designed for functionality. Engineers
and designers worked together to ensure every panel of the vehicle
not only looked great, but was effective as well. For starters, the
front track was widened, resulting in wider fenders that allowed
for heat extraction vents for the engine bay. The front grille
surround is claimed to actually increase the GT350's rigidity. A
hood vent extracts more heat from the high-revving powerplant,
while a small scoop by the driver's side headlight feeds it fresh
air via a sealed air box. The lower portions of the front fascia
include cooling ducts for the front brakes, as well as air passage
to the transmission and oil coolers. And at the rear, a small
spoiler creates some appreciated downforce at high speeds,
meanwhile the rear diffuser and belly pan direct air past an
air-to-oil differential cooler. All this amazing design is layered
in a liquid-smooth coat of Ruby Red Metallic with a Black/White
racing stripe that stretches the full length of the car.
ENGINE/DRIVETRAIN
The heart of this track beast is the aforementioned, award-winning
5.2 liter V8, code-named "Voodoo". By utilizing a flat-plane
crankshaft, the Voodoo V8 propels the 3,760 lb coupe with 526
horsepower and 429 lb/ft of torque. Mated to a Tremec 6-speed
manual, a buyer's' only option for 2017, the GT350 bursts to 60 mph
in nearly 4 seconds and approaches 120 mph at the end of a 1/4
mile! But most of the fun comes out at the local road course or
your favorite twisty road where the MagneRide adaptive suspension
makes constant calculations to keep the tires firmly planted around
corners. When combined with the independent rear suspension and
large two-piece rotors clamped by massive Brembo calipers, the
package is a remarkable driving experience usually reserved for
high-end European sports cars. The fruits of labor are rewarded
through the Michellin Pilot Supersports measuring 295/35ZR19 up
front and 305/35ZR19 out back.
INTERIOR
Open the doors and hunker down into a cockpit that affirms you're
in something special. A black, leather and suede interior bolsters
all four passengers with heated and cooled, power-adjustable
buckets up front. You'll find traditional telemetry forward of the
driver, with an oil pressure and oil temp gauge sitting front and
center of the dash while a traditional Shelby dash plaque sits
above the glovebox. Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system tops A/C
controls and toggle switches for the exhaust modes, launch control,
and traction control. And the driver pilots the GT350 through a
suede and leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel and 6-speed
shifter.
