Vehicle Description
Shining correct color, T-tops, ultra-low mileage, and a
numbers-matching 427 cubic inch V8... that's why we all love this
first-year C3. This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette gets all the important
stuff right and it's ready to rock without a second thought. Get in
and drive!
Silverstone Silver is a great color to have on a big block 'Vette.
This one has been given a professional respray that really lets the
precious metal finish radiate in the sunshine. Now the paint lives
up to its European racetrack namesake by being both sophisticated
and sporty all in its first impression. This one has been
exceptionally well cared for over the years, so the clearcoat has a
nice luster that accentuates the new-for-'68 body, which is
particularly appealing with the big block hood. For many, the early
chrome bumper cars are the ones to own, and the brightwork here is
nicely finished. Top it off with a correct rally wheel package on
standout redline tires, and this is the kind of car that will grab
attention in even the most finicky Corvette crowds.
'Vette owners are some of the most fastidious about care, and while
this one is approaching the half-century mark, the mostly original
interior continues to look quite nice. In fact, since this one has
only averaged 900 annually over its lifetime, there has been little
time to wear down the inside. The bucket seats are inviting, the
carpets remain plush, and the door panels have stayed crisp - so
this is a well-sorted sports car. The interior is not a complete
midnight experience with the shine of the three-spoke wheel and the
gearshift. The driver gets the original gauge package with the
large speedo and tach straight ahead. In the center is a full
auxiliary readout package, heat/defrost controls, and just below
that is the original AM/FM radio. But one of the best parts of this
coupe are the removable T-tops and rear window... that way you can
share this highly original interior with the world.
Tilt the hood forward and you'll reveal the numbers-matching L36
427 cubic inch V8 that looks absolutely fresh from the factory.
Everything appears correct, including the chrome valve covers,
distributor shield, and stickers on the chrome air cleaner. It's a
clean engine bay that you'll be proud to show off - it's even a 2nd
Flight NCRS car. But while we know you'll love this for the car
shows, this one is also meant to be enjoyed on the open road. After
all the TH400 three-speed transmission is the perfect paring to let
the big block go from an easy cruiser, to a snarling beast with
just the tip of a throttle. Plus, the fully independent suspension,
power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes keep this a superior
handling classic sports car.
Complete with factory buildsheet and title docs, this is the C3
that has the right look and pedigree to get all the best attention
from the Corvette community. They just have to get you off the road
long enough to show it off. Call now!!
