For Sale: 1972 Plymouth Barracuda in Lutz, Florida

Vehicle Description

A 1972 Plymouth Barracuda with a great High Impact color, big V8 under the hood, and all the right upgrades. Oh yeah, this legendary muscle car is a turnkey ready fun machine.

Owning a Barracuda from this era is a bit like entrance into an exclusive club. By 1972, higher insurance premiums were beginning to kill muscle car production numbers, and Chrysler always had lower figures then the rest of The Big Three - so these are rare. Combine this with Mopar's traditionally long option list, and the Barracuda camaraderie is often about the few ways owner's cars are alike because each is very rare and unique. But one piece that everyone looks for on these classics is Chrysler's famous High Impact colors. Tor-Red is Plymouth's version of Hemi Orange, and Mopar fans know 1972 was the last year this was offered. That's why we suspect there was plenty invested in a shining tribute to this cool paint. And more than just the bold red, this is truly an aggressive machine, right down to the details like the hood scoops, iconic Rallye wheels, and the red grille accents that look like the glowing eyes of a hungry wolf.

The moment you slip into the high-back bucket seat, it feels like 1972 all over again. Every inch of the black interior feels nicely persevered - from the door panels, to the carpets, to the headliner. You've got the desirable center console with the T-bar gearshift sitting boldly in the middle of the wood veneer. The stock two-spoke sports steering wheel feels simple, direct, and effective. It gives you a great view of the factory gauge package. It's a true muscle machine, and Chrysler made sure it all focused on the driver.

Mopar fans will get excited when you lift the hood. After 1971 regulations killed off the 383 cubic-inch big block that helped make the 'Cuda a legend. So we are pretty darn happy to see it return for an encore in coupe. Because this is such an important motor, it has also been upgraded with a four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, Mickey Thompson valve covers, and a Champion aluminum radiator. You better believe this one make a menacing growl through the dual exhaust. But more than just an intimidator, this 'Cuda is a fine driver with its three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, front disc brakes, thick sway bar, and new urethane bushings.

Buying this speedy Plymouth means you're a member of a rare Mopar club, and considering the exclusivity and performance you receive, the dues seem quite reasonable. Call today!!!
