When most Porsche racing enthusiasts think of the famous brand's
successes in North American motorsports, the names of Team Penske
and Brumos Racing are usually the first mentioned for their great
victories. Most famously for Roger Penske and Mark Donohue with the
legendary Sunoco/Porsche 917/30 Can-Am that blitzed the 1973 series
championship and, impressively, four wins in the Daytona 24 Hours
for the famous Jacksonville, Florida Brumos team.
This particular 2003 Porsche 911 Targa is currently owned by a
gentleman that has worked for both of these famous teams, so you
can be assured that this machine has received proper attention
during the course of his ownership. He also, of course, knows what
is needed in producing a top-flight sports car and Porsche was an
obvious choice.
Finished in black over gray leather and in original condition, the
2003 Porsche 911 Targa is not only a fine looking platform, it also
is quite uncommon with only 1,800 produced in 2003 (2,693 total
production). The 911 Targa is powered by a 3,596-cc, 310-hp flat
six-cylinder engine that is matched with the optional five-speed
Triptronic S automatic transmission. The rear spoiler is but one
element of a full aero kit, 19-inch custom alloy wheels have been
added, and the power targa top will give you the ability to enjoy
open air driving with a great sense of security.
Having full power options that includes windows, steering, door
locks and mirrors, the stopping power is provided by ventilated and
drilled four-wheel disc brakes with Bosch ABS. The calipers are
aluminum monoblocks with four pistons each for even greater
stability. The rear seats will fold down, air conditioning keeps
you cool and a Bose AM/FM/CD system provides the soundtrack to your
personal Porsche adventures.
