2004 Millennium Yellow Convertible
Corvette
When stock just doesn't cut it for you... This
unique Corvette started its life as a "regular" 2004 Yellow
Convertible with manual transmission, 1SC package and was enjoyed
by a long time Corvette enthusiast for a little while in stock
condition. It all ended when a little more power was needed which
came from a new LS7 engine originally designed to be the heart of
the C6 Z06 designed to put out 505 HP at a displacement of 7.0L or
427 c.i. Not only that, but it was professionally stroked to 7.2L
or 440 c.i. by LS Performance specialists Scoggin-Dickey. In
addition to high flow heads, it features a slew of performance
parts to reach the goal of over 600 flywheel horses: Comp cams
aggressive camshaft that emits a hot-rodding rumble, 2.5 inch Kooks
headers, Corsa exhaust, 900 CFM throttle body (compatible with the
drive-by-wire system of the LS7, K&N air intake combined with
Vararam cold air intake scoop. Other specific parts include
modified engine mounts, new timing chain cover, wiring, ECM
connectors, and sensors by Katech. With the set-up, custom mapping
was necessary which was an elaborate process requiring nearly a
month for fine tuning and calibration. With so much power a Fidanza
carbon-fiber clutch with lighter aluminum flywheel was used. It
rides on a set of Forgeline three-piece wheels (18x9 front, 19x11
rear) wrapped in Goodyear Eagle GSD rubber sized at 245/40 and
285/35 respectively. Proper stopping was the next concern. Worry no
more: a set of Stainless Steel Brakes' V8 calipers with no less
that eight pistons (!) to clench the two-piece 14-inch slotted and
cross-drilled rotors which reduced the stock stopping distance at
60 MPH to 113 feet compared to 125-135 feet with the stock C5
brakes. Rear end was upgraded to 3.73 posi. The original LS1 engine
and hood come with the car. Conversion has only 5K miles.
Cosmetically, it has a mild custom appearance with the addition of
Shark front fascia, LT1 inspired hood, custom exhaust outlets, Euro
tail-lights, modified rear bumper, modified marking lights and
headlight halogen kit, carbon fiber engine covers, Silver kit,
carbon-fiber inner fender covers, Billet Side spears.. Interior is
mostly stock only with the addition of the center console cushion,
floor mats, emblems... What else can we say? Do you want the only
