Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars Houston has a fantastic opportunity for you to
own this beautiful and thunderous 1970 Chevrolet Camaro! This one
is a beast with it's 383 stroker engine and killer styling. 1970
was the first year for the second generation of the Chevrolet
Camaro. It was longer, lower and wider than the first generation
Camaro. GM said the second generation is much more of "A Driver's
Car" than its predecessor. Most of the engine and drivetrain
components were carried over from 1969. The 1970 model year
vehicles are generally regarded as the most desirable of the early
second-generation Camaros, since the performance of following years
was reduced by the automobile emissions control systems of the
period and later the addition of heavy federally mandated bumpers.
The 1970 was often mistakenly referred to as a 70 because they
started production in February which was half way through the model
year. However, all of them were registered as 1970 cars. The
exterior of this one is finished in an excellent blue with white
stripes and the interior redone in black vinyl/cloth. 1970 was a
great year for cars. It was the last year that manufacturers could
really make those big power numbers before the emissions control
regulations came in. You will see the Camaros power level go down
significantly year after year after this point. Don't miss your
opportunity to own this excellent example of an all American
classic. Call the Houston showroom at (832) 243-6220 for more
