For Sale: 1965 Pontiac LeMans in Plain City, Utah

Vehicle Description

For Sale: 1965 Pontiac LeMans Convertible

This is a frame off restoration that is approx. 90% complete.

The engine is a 1964, 421 that has been completely rebuilt and never driven on. The heads have been re-machined with hardened seats and guides. Everything replaced except the crank shaft and it was re-ground.

Radiator, battery, alternator, starter, water pump, fuel pump, all new. The water pump burps a little anti-freeze sometimes after being ran.

The rear end is a GM 10 bolt posi that has been fit with SSBC disc brakes.

The front end has tubular A-arms with GM disk brakes. All springs, bushings, and bolts are new.

The gas tank is a new, aftermarket tank that fits well but can be a little tricky to fill thru license plate opening.

The transmission is a 4 speed manual that I believe came from a 1970 Camaro with a Hurst shifter. The shifter that is currently in the car is the correct, straight-stick, style but is worn out and can be hard to find gears. The car will come with another Hurst shifter that is in much better shape but it is not the straight-stick style.

The Frame has been media blasted and powder coated gloss black.

The body is all welded with new rear quarter panels, patch panels in the truck and inner rear fenders. The floor was still in very good condition. This was an Arizona car with little rust. Everything was media blasted and repainted.  This is a back yard paint job so the body work is not exceptional but is good and solid. This car is as clean underneath as it is on top.

The dash is new and the gages are correct with the rally tach. The speedometer was purchased off E-bay and advertised as rebuilt, but years later, when I finally got it installed, it turned out to be very noisy and hops a lot. I have since disconnected the cable from the transmission.

The dash also has an original radio block-out plate for a nice clean look. Car has a JL Audio amplifier/receiver mounted in the trunk that works from I-pod or auxiliary input. There are JL Audio speakers in the front and behind where rear seat goes and subs in the trunk but nothing visible in the car.

(Correction: I reference the stereo as a JBL in the video. All components are JL Audio, not JBL.)

The front seats are new aftermarket black bucket seats. There is no back seat in the car at this time but I do have the spring sets. The original back seat arm rests are gone. I ordered some aftermarket ones but they will need some work to fit correctly.

I have all the convertible top parts. Most of the structural parts have been powder coated but none of them are installed.

The front windows are installed but the aftermarket seals don't always pop into place when rolling up the windows. Rear windows are not installed as I have not been able to locate the correct chrome trim for the rear windows on a convertible. (Update, found a nice full set of original stainless steel trim for front windows, rear windows, and around convertable top.)

I have new door panels but have not installed them as I was still tinkering with the front window seals.

The exhaust is a new stainless steel crossover set with the signature Pontiac dual tips.

The tires and wheels are new.

Bumpers are new. Most chrome is new when available, all other parts are in good condition.

I have lots of extra parts that would go with the car including a couple sets of Pontiac heads, original valve covers, and los of chrome..

This car has never been registered or driven since restoration, other than the occasional run around the block. It would need some fine tuning before driving but it does run and runs well.

This is a really cool car that would not take a lot to complete. I am hoping to find her a good home.

Thanks for looking.
