Packard was an American luxury automobile marque built by the Packard Motor Company of Detroit, Michigan, and later by the Studebaker-Packard Corporation of South Bend, Indiana. The first Packard automobiles were produced in 1899, and the last in 1958.
Packard only produced three of these very special 1939 Safari Wagons. They were to be used specifically in Africa for “big game” hunts. Of the three produced, this is the only one known to still exist making it the most rare car in the museum. In addition to its rarity, this particular car was used by Winston Churchill when he would go big game hunting in Africa. So not only is this car one-of-a-kind but it was also used by one of the most famous people in modern history.
