In 1968 Chevrolet produced a total of 1778 SS427's. They were available in 3 body styles: a sport coupe, a custom coupe and a convertible. Most of these cars were built with both the Z24 (SS427 package) and the Z-03 (Impala Super Sport package). In 1968 the Z-03 Impala Super Sport package was a cosmetic package which offered bucket seats, a center console, and special Super Sport upholstery and door panels for the interior. Special Super Sport wheel covers and ornamentation were added on the exterior.
This car is one of the few built with only the Z24 (SS427) package and therefore may be a much rarer car. This 1968 custom coupe (16447) is an originally black car (code aa) with a plush gray-green vinyl and cloth interior as you would see in a caprice (code r). The car has survived with its original 427 /385 hp motor and turbo 400 hydramatic transmission.
This is a fully documented surviving Colorado car with 76,000 miles. It comes with the original protecto plate and the original buyer’s order.
