Pontiac introduced the second generation Firebird in 1970. The cars
were only offered in coupe configuration but over the course of
second generation production Pontiac offered numerous special
appearance packages, popular for the time period. For 1971, Pontiac
offered five variations of the Firebird, the rarest of which was
the Trans Am with only 2,116 examples produced.
This 1971 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is reported to be an original
owner car that has benefitted from a frame-off restoration
completed in 2004. The meticulous restoration went as far as
duplicating the correct over-spray and factory markings. The high
attention to detail was noted as the car is a three-time champion
with Pontiac Oakland Club International - Junior Champion 2010,
Senior Champion 2011 and Gold Champion 2013. The car is powered by
a 455-cid High Output V-8 engine, which is paired to a four-speed
automatic transmission. Power equipment on the car includes
windows, steering and brakes. The interior is completed in blue
with bucket seats, console, AM/FM radio and air conditioning.
Included with the car is the original bill of sale and
documentation of the restoration.
