Vehicle Description
Up for sale is a VERY RARE 1971 Land Rover Defender Series III 109
4x4 Lwb. Rare 4 cylinder 4 speed with Overdrive and Safari roof.
Highly Collectible and hard to find series III first year station
wagon. I have seen one other 1971 in the last six months for sale.
Listed on Hemmings and It was a Whopping $100,000! Of course it was
fully restored. 1971 Was the first these Beauties where imported.
An SUV that was built to go anywhere. Very Primitive and built that
way! We have driven her and everything seems fine with the
exception of the Reverse syncro. If it even is supposed to have
one? She has started right up every time we got in her. 30 degrees
or 70 degrees outside. Everything that we have tried seems to work.
The body is straight and the interior is good with the drivers seat
needing recovered. There is some current rust and previous repairs
in the rear portion of the frame. From what I see online this is
pretty normal. As with any rust it is repairable and does not seem
to hamper the driving of this Rare 109. Do not bid and/or buy this
rover expecting it to be perfect at this price. Shop around and
then realize what a deal this is!
