Gateway Classic Cars is excited to welcome this Dusk Rose 1957 Ford
Thunderbird to its Philadelphia showroom located in West Deptford,
NJ! This is perhaps the quintessential ride of the 50s with a paint
job to match! Ford had introduced the T-Bird in 1955 to counter
Chevy's Corvette and even marked it at a similar base price. Sure
enough, Thunderbirds outsold Corvettes in the first year at 16,155
to Chevy's mere 700. 1957 remained a strong year for the Ford
T-Bird, outselling Corvette thanks to price as well as a
significant restyling including tail fins and an overall new body
shape. As seen with this fine example, the car's rare Dusk Rose
paint compliments both the removable white hard top and the white
wall tires set upon stock wire wheels. Brilliant chrome front and
rear bumpers add that touch of class synonymous with the T-Bird
brand. The vehicle is completed with a Colonial White vinyl
interior that is both comfortable and visually pleasing. New to
1957 was the instrument panel and a padded dashboard and dished
steering wheel that can be seen on the car. Powering this 1957
T-Bird, the final year for the two-seater version, is a 312 V8
engine that produces 245 horsepower. The car also features a
Flaming River Rack and Pinion to provide both a smooth and sturdy
ride. Additional features include AM/FM radio, Power Brakes, Power
Steering, Power Windows and Tilt Steering Wheel. If you are looking
for solid driver that gets nods wherever it goes, look no further!
