Vehicle Description
You're looking at a real-deal 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396, but
this icon of American muscle has been upgraded in all the right
places. The super-slick silver paint, upgraded A/C interior,
four-wheel disc brakes, and fuel injection all come together to
give you the best of everything in one iconic hardtop.
The way this car looks is no joke, and the investment in time and
money is obvious everywhere you look. If you're a fan of the early
Chevelle bodies, with its beautiful flying buttress C-pillars and
subtle aggression, then this car should ring all the right bells.
The excellent luster of the silver paint takes advantage of a
modern clearcoat application. Underneath, the sheetmetal has been
given the right investments so that silver has a terrific canvas to
highlight the coupe's intricate details. This was the first year
for the Super Sport 396 as its own separate model, and this coupe
wears its unique pieces with pride, including the blacked-out
grille & tail, ribbed lower trim panels, and hood vents. Those
great factory pieces are joined by custom elements like the Kindig
It flush door handles, and Boss alloys (with an aggressive
18/20-inch front /rear stagger) to create a truly memorable custom
classic.
Inside is more of that cool mixture of classic pieces and custom
elements. The best example of this blend is on the seats. These
follow the factory pattern, but it you look closer, the aggressive
red stitching is a cool little detail for lingering eyes to
discover. Plus, the seatbelts are dyed to match. The door panels,
carpets, and headliner have that kind of fresh black appearance
that makes us aware there was quite a nice investment in the
interior. As part of the true SS package, you get a center console
with working clock in the front. The custom Billet Specialties
steering wheel continues the red and black theme, and the Hurst
shifter even joins in, too. You get the cool ultra wide speedometer
that came on this generation Chevelle, and that flows into the rest
of the controls. But while it looks like you have a factory stereo,
it's actually an upgraded Retro Style unit that helps run the full
subwoofer speaker system. Since this interior looks great with the
all the windows down, there's ice-cold R134a air conditioning to
also keep you cool while looking cool.
Grab your sunglasses before popping the hood, because not only is
the bright exterior silver continued in the extremely tidy engine
bay, but also you can tell there was a small fortune invested in
polished components. It has the kind of overall presentation that
can win awards all on its own. But when you look beyond the style,
you'll see the substance of a period-correct 396 cubic-inch big
block V8. This motor has been converted to FAST adjustable fuel
injection so it can inhale with precision, and the long tube
headers create even more power as they contribute to the thunderous
roar of the X-pipe dual exhaust. You are in complete control of
this enhanced big block and its rumbling symphony thanks to the
four-speed manual transmission. But more than just big power, this
custom build has a surefooted suspension that includes thick sway
bars front & rear, beefed up rear trailing arms, and a full set of
coilover shocks. Plus, the Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, power
steering, and modern performance tires love to hug the road. This
total build is great for the driver, right down to the details like
the aluminum radiator w/electric fan that can keep the car cool
even when you're in traffic with the A/C running.
Complete with a ton of build receipts (more than double what the
price of the car is), this is a genuine SS coupe with all the right
upgrades to turn heads, win awards, and keep you grinning from
ear-to-ear. A turnkey total package like this is a special deal, so
you know you need to hurry. Call now!!
