Vehicle Description
This original, steel bodied, 1940 Ford Deluxe has been completely
custom built and upgraded. Now powered by a beautiful, 1955 270
Super Red Ram Hemi!! This engine has been completely rebuilt with
Forged, Ross 9.5-1 pistons. The heads were ported and the manifold
matched with stainless steel valves and hardened seats. A 4 bbl
manifold with an Edelbrock 625 cfm carb with an electric choke
provide the Hemi with the right amount of fuel. A GM 100 amp
alternator, GM power steering pump and a Turbo 400 trans with a
shift kit were installed and work great. And putting the power to
the wheels is a Ford 8 inch running 3.00 gears. The 40's chassis
was sand blasted, boxed and c-notched before being painted. A
Heidts front cross member, heavy duty sway bar and Mustang II front
end handle the ride up front and a 5 leaf setup with heavy duty
sway bar out back. An ECI brake master and booster power the front
disc brakes. The interior is nicely wrapped in white leather seats
and white ultra leather door panels and headliner. Sound deadening
was used on almost every possible inch of the car and really makes
a huge difference, not only in keeping the car quiet inside but for
insulation as well. New, Essex cut pile carpet was installed over
the sound deadener. A banjo wheel was bolted to the Ididit steering
column and looks great. The Lokar shifter is a nice touch, as is
the finished trunk. Tons of money was put into this build along
with many man hours to complete it. You'll be amazed at the quality
of this build and for this price, you'll realize it's a great deal.
