Ford Model A Roadster Pickup. It has received a stunning frame-off
restoration to original factory spec that was completed in 2010.
This is the open cab delivery truck model 76A with the narrow bed
78-A. It was assembled at Ford Long Beach in California. The frame
serial number 2430697 suggests Oct 1929 and the engine Serial No
A4281568 suggests Jan 1931. The original engine was replaced with a
remanufactured engine in 2009. The truck was delivered in AZ in
early 1930. It has 1929 and 1930 parts on it. It was in the dry
desert climate it's entire life so it was preserved very well. It
only has 15 miles on it since the restoration. There are some top
quality finishes too! LaBaron Bonney Co. period wool seat covers
(brown beige check), black door and cowl panel sets, preproduction
interior (heat shield, pedal covers, mats, etc.). Also done was the
folding canvas top assembly with enclosure rear curtains, glass,
rear quarters, rear valance, side panels and storage bag. The paint
is PPG enamel historic repaint with the body finished in Manilla
Brown and Black Beauty (replicating factory gloss dipping) taking
care of the fenders, running boards and under carriage all with a
color sanded finish. The wire wheels are powder coated with Straw
paint, the under carriage is Black Matte Enamel, the fender arms,
splash pans and supports are powder coated Black Gloss and the
chrome parts have all been re-chromed. The tires are authentic
period Firestone 1930 treads manufactured in Brazil on authentic
rubber molds. The entire drivetrain has been rebuilt with NOS gears
and received a full professional restoration. The frame was
undamaged, squared, rust stripped and all damaged bolts and rivets
were replaced. The shocks and brakes were re-manufacturer to
factory specification. Carburetor and powerhouse was re-built. New
Model A Ford tapered muffler, body wood, strapping, bolts/nuts and
rivets all to meet period authentic requirements. Lights and horn
are remanufactured 1929, but modern brake lights, turn signals and
after-market seat belts have been added for safety. The body was
restored replacing a rear body panel, the hoods and two door shells
that had rust and wear issues, with all other parts stripped and
restored. Restoration was 100% period metal parts, fasteners,
rivets, screws, bolts and hardware. New body wood, white oak beds
and sideboards have been done. The gas tank was removed and sent to
a restorer for chemical cleaning and re-sealing. This Roadster has
not been officially judged but based on the National MAFCA standard
ratings it should be about 475/500. Pictures of the restoration

sideboards, steel running boards, radiator moto-meter, four
cylinder 40hp engine, 5:1 rear axle, spare tire with cover. This
truck is one of 78,000 built that year and the original price was
$535. It achieved 18mpg and weighs only 2,073lbs! This is one of
the finest examples of these trucks and shouldn't be missed. If you
