1980 Mercedes Benz 450SL w/37k Miles

1980 Mercedes-Benz 450SL Roadster. Purchased new locally in July of 1980 by a local physician in Piedmont, California. The car has lived indoors it's entire life while at home as well as in the parking garage at the hospital where he worked. We purchased both the doctor and his wife's car from their estate from a heated garage where both sat unused for several years.
We had the fuel system completely gone through to assure that it runs smoothly. Completed a safety inspection and installed a brand new set of tires. We had a complete fluid service including power steering, brakes, coolant, oil and transmission at our local independent Mercedes-Benz specialist along with a new battery. The car starts; runs and drives beautifully and functions like new. The engine is smooth and strong, suspension is tight along with the steering.
The interior is in immaculate condition. Because the car was always indoors the wood, dash, rugs, panels all have been amazingly preserved. The car has no odors and the seating is firm and comfortable. All accessories are in working order and the air conditioning system was just converted to R134a and blows ice-cold. The top is immaculate and appears to be original.
The exterior is immaculate with no rust, beautiful trim, excellent glass and good rubber. The car experienced some door dings while parked in the garage at the hospital where he worked so it is our understanding that he had the car repainted shortly before he passed away just as the car went into long-term storage around 2008-2009. The quality of the paintwork is nearly factory and looks great.
The car shows a long history of regular fluid changes and required services being completed at the local Mercedes-Benz dealerships, Stead Motors and Claridges, Ltd. It is detailed and ready to enjoy.
