Vehicle Description
1965 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible. Very clean and nicely
restored. Highly optionedand well-appointed. 389 cubic inch/315
horsepower V-8 engine. This car has always been well cared for and
has never been subject to abuse or neglect. This is truly a superb
automobile to be enjoyed and driven. For 1965, General Motors
dramatically restyled all of their "B" body cars. Swooping
rooflines, rakish fender lines and the infamous "Coke Bottle"
profile contributed to making Pontiac's redesigned Bonneville one
of most popular body styles ever produced. The Bonneville's new
look with accentuated with plenty of bright trim on the lower body
sides and on the rear deck. Inside, new upholstery and new
instrumentation were featured. Four different body styles were
offered for Bonneville's 1965 line including a two-door sedan, a
four-door sedan, a station wagon and a convertible. 21,505
convertibles were built and carried a base price of 3,520.00. We
are proud to offer this very clean and nicely restored 1965 Pontiac
Bonneville convertible. This car was restored in 2001 from a very
solid, straight and correct car. Upon close inspection, it becomes
very apparent that this example has always been well cared for and
has never been subject to abuse or neglect. This is a highly
optioned and well-appointed example. Under the hood is the original
389 cubic inch/315 horsepower V-8 engine with a single four-barrel
carburetor which is backed by GM's, bullet-proof, Turbo-Hydramatic
transmission. The powertrain on this car is equipped with power
steering, power brakes, dual exhaust and 8-lug aluminum wheels.
Other equipment includes power top, tinted glass, two-speed wipers
with washers, AM/FM factory stereo with rear speakers, power rear
antenna, remote outside rear view mirror, tilt steering wheel,
interior and trunk courtesy lamps. Since being restored in 2001,
this Bonneville convertible has been consistently maintained and
cared for by a fussy collector of 1960s GM automobiles. The car has
always been stored in a climate controlled. It has been regularly
used and has never been neglected. The body panels are nice and
straight. The doors, hood and deck lid fit the body well with even
gaps and margins throughout. The bodylines and contours are crisp
and well defined. The exterior white paint remains in excellent
condition showing hardly any signs of wear. The paint has a
consistent and even gloss. The chrome and stainless trim items are
also in very good condition. On the inside, the black interior
appears to have been replaced at the time of restoration and today
shows hardly any wear. The seats, door panels, carpets, etc. are
all extremely clean. The wood-grained dashboard is also very nice
and all of the gauges are clean and clear and the indicated mileage
is about 92,000. The matching black, power convertible top appears
to have been recently replaced. The engine bay is extremely clean
and appears to be well cared for. The underneath of the car is in
similar condition. It is obvious that this was always a good car
and honest car. The rare 8-lug aluminum wheels are extremely clean
and the tires are newer replacements. This is a great looking car
that presents well from all angles. It is ready for several more
seasons of top down driving and will certainly be a hit at the next
car show or cruise night.
