found another "heavy" car from those "mod" times of pads, flower
and American muscle car power! We are proud to present this very
rare four on the floor Indian Fire Q-code 428 Big Block 1969 Ford
Torino Cobra fastback fitted with more options such as power front
disc brakes and factory tachometer. According to the attached
Deluxe Marti Report this is only 1 of 9 Torino's to be produced in
this exact performance configuration, very rare indeed! We also
have the very hard to find Ford original line sheet for this exact
Torino! Finished in a rare Indian Fire (code Y) exterior with a
black cloth/vinyl bench seat (code 1A), this car's paint and trim
are in very good condition, as are the glass panels. The windows
are clear and intact. The car's quad headlights and bisected
taillights are also in very good shape. This Torino Cobra rolls
power front disc brakes and Hercules H/P 4000 tires, size
235/60R15, and surrounding factory alloy wheels with center
spinners. This Ford has straight and solid body panels and the
engine bay is tidy and the battery appears new. The Ford's bumpers
are shiny and in good shape. Under the hood is a desirable big
block 428 CID V-8 Cobra Jet (code Q) non-ram air engine (date code
correct) with a four-barrel carburetor and a 10.6:1 compression,
breathing through dual exhausts and mated to a close-ratio,
four-speed manual transmission with a 2.32 first gear (code 6) and
a 3.50:1 (code A) rear end. Inside, the black, split-folding front
and rear vinyl bench seats are in very good condition, as is the
matching black carpet. The matching black headliner is in good
order and the black instrument panel with its four circular gauge
pods matches the rest of the interior nicely but the wipers are
inoperable. In addition, there are aftermarket ammeter and oil
gauges mounted under the instrument panel. The factory, two-spoke
steering wheel with attached horn bar looks good, as do the inner
door panels. The mirror glass and shift lever are in good order.
Rounding out the interior is a Philco AM radio. Built at Ford's
Kansas City, Kansas assembly plant on December 20, 1968, two days
behind schedule, the car was delivered to the Pacific Northwest. It
left the factory with the following options - F70X14 wide oval
belted white sidewall tires, power front disc brakes, an AM radio
and a tachometer. Eventually, the car landed at Damerow Ford Co. in
Beaverton, Oregon, which is still in business today. The car was
sold on January 13, 1969. Of the 386,368 1969 Fairlane Torinos,
11,099 were Cobra two-door Sportsroofs. Of those, 3,645 came with
428-4V CJ Non-Ram Air Engines, 1,322 of those had close-ratio,
four-speed transmissions and 124 of them were finished in Indian
Fire, of which, 57 had black vinyl bench seats. Of those, 30 came
equipped with power front disc brakes. Twelve of them came with
tachometers. Of these, nine came with F70X14 wide oval belted
tires. Documentation includes original owner's manual, original
line sheet and original brochure, plus copies of the vehicle's
Marti reports. This car is currently located at our facility in St.
Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 74,315
miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, exempt
mileage title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!! Please click here for our
